Terms of Service for buyers
Last updated: 9 July 2026
These General Terms and Conditions (the "Terms") govern the use of the mqtickets ticketing platform (the "Platform") and the purchase of tickets through the Platform, between the users who purchase tickets (the "Buyer") and the organizers of the individual events (the "Organizer").
The Platform is operated by: MelqAI Technológiai Kft. (company registration number: 01-09-459294; tax number: 33104072-1-42; registered seat: 1141 Budapest, Szugló utca 125/E A. ép. C. lház. 015. ajtó; e-mail: support@mqtickets.com) (the "Operator").
By starting a purchase on the Platform or finalizing payment, the Buyer declares that they have read these Terms, accept their provisions, and consider themselves bound by them. The ticket purchase constitutes a contract concluded by electronic means, without a written document, which the Operator stores in the form of data recorded in its system.
1. Role of the Platform and formation of the contract
The Platform provides an online interface and technical service for selling tickets to Organizers' events. The ticket purchase contract (entitling admission) is formed between the Buyer and the relevant Organizer; the Operator acts as an intermediary on behalf of the Organizer. The Organizer is solely responsible for the realization, holding, content and quality of the event, as well as for related information provided about it.
The ticket price – except for any service fee charged by the Operator – belongs to the Organizer and is credited directly to the Organizer's payment account.
The contract is formed when the "Pay" (or equivalent) button is pressed and payment is successfully completed. Only a legally competent natural person who has reached the age of 16, or the representative of a legal person, is entitled to purchase tickets.
2. Pre-contractual information (distance contract)
The Buyer can find information on the essential characteristics of the event (performer, date, venue, ticket type) on the relevant event's page. Prices are stated in Hungarian forints (HUF) and include value-added tax at the applicable rate. The total amount payable – including any service fee – is clearly displayed on the checkout page before payment is finalized.
For tickets to leisure services (cultural, entertainment, sporting) tied to a specific date, the Buyer is not entitled to the 14-day right of withdrawal under Section 29(1)(l) of Hungarian Government Decree 45/2014 (II. 26.) on the detailed rules of contracts between consumers and businesses (see Section 7).
3. Registration, account and the Buyer's data
The data provided for the ticket purchase must be true, accurate and complete. The Buyer is responsible for the secure handling of their account login details and for all activity carried out through their account. The Operator is entitled to refuse an order created with false or incomplete data, and to restrict or delete such an account.
The accuracy of the e-mail address provided for the purchase is particularly important, as the ticket and all purchase-related notifications are sent to that address. The confirmation e-mail arrives shortly after payment; if it cannot be found, please also check the spam/junk folder.
Use of the Platform by automated means (e.g. bots, scripts) is prohibited, as is the commercial resale of tickets, or any resale not authorized by the Organizer. Orders placed in this way, and the tickets belonging to them, may be invalidated.
4. Ticket purchase process
After selecting the desired ticket type(s) and quantity, the Buyer enters the data required for the purchase on the checkout page, then concludes the contract by finalizing payment. Adding items to the cart alone does not create a payment obligation; reserved tickets are held for a period set by the system (typically a few minutes), after which the reservation may be released.
After successful payment, the ticket is made available electronically, fitted with a QR code, by e-mail and/or in the MQTickets app. If the Buyer does not receive the ticket within a reasonable time after payment, please do not initiate another transaction, but contact our customer service instead.
5. Prices, fees, payment and invoicing
The ticket price is set by the Organizer. The Operator may charge a service fee on top of the ticket price, the amount of which is displayed on the checkout page. Any subsequent price change does not affect a purchase already in progress.
Payment on the Platform is made through a secure, encrypted connection, via the Organizer's payment service provider (e.g. Stripe). The Operator does not access or store card data.
The Organizer, or the invoicing service provider it uses, issues an electronic invoice for the purchase based on the data provided.
6. The ticket, e-ticket and QR code
The ticket contains a unique QR code, which is checked upon admission. The QR code is invalidated at the first valid check-in; the same code cannot be used again. The ticket can be added to the phone's wallet (Apple Wallet / Google Wallet), or accessed in the MQTickets app.
It is the Buyer's responsibility not to make the QR code accessible to unauthorized persons. The Operator and the Organizer accept no liability for damages arising from the loss, unauthorized duplication or disclosure of the ticket or QR code – in particular where someone else is admitted to the event using the code. A lost ticket cannot be replaced.
7. Right of withdrawal and termination
Under Government Decree 45/2014 (II. 26.), the Buyer is not entitled to the 14-day right of withdrawal for tickets to leisure activities tied to a specific date or period (an event). By finalizing the purchase, the Buyer expressly acknowledges this.
In case the event is cancelled, postponed, or materially changed, refunds are governed by Section 8 and by the separate Refund Policy.
8. Rules relating to the event, cancellation and force majeure
The Organizer is responsible for holding and conducting the event and for informing attendees. The Organizer is entitled to make reasonable changes to performers, the program or the starting time; the stated starting time is indicative only. The Organizer's house rules and security requirements in force at the time apply at the event; the Organizer is entitled to refuse admission or remove an attendee who violates the house rules, arrives with a damaged or forged ticket, or is under the influence of alcohol or other intoxicating substances.
Discounted tickets: the conditions for a discount (e.g. for children, students, seniors) are set by the Organizer, who may verify eligibility on site. The Platform does not verify eligibility; if a discount is used without entitlement, admission may be refused, or the Organizer may make admission conditional on paying the difference on site.
Cancelled event: if the event is cancelled, the Organizer is obliged to arrange for the refund of the ticket price, in the manner and within the time limit it determines – within the framework of these Terms and the Refund Policy. Unless stated otherwise, the refund is made to the original payment method, no later than 30 days from the date the event was cancelled. The refund covers the ticket price; the service fee and any other service charges are non-refundable.
Postponed event / rain date: the Organizer is entitled to move the event to another date. In such a case, unless the Organizer states otherwise, the purchased ticket remains valid for the new date, and the postponement alone does not entitle the Buyer to a refund.
Force majeure: in the event of a cancellation or change to the event due to an unavoidable external cause beyond the parties' control (in particular a natural disaster, war, epidemic, or official restriction), the parties' liability shall be determined in accordance with the applicable law and the Organizer's information.
9. Ticket transfer and resale (TicketSwap)
Transferring the ticket to another person is permitted, unless the Organizer expressly restricts or prohibits it (e.g. for a ticket issued in a named person's name). Official resale through the Platform (TicketSwap) may only take place on the designated interface, subject to the conditions set by the Organizer (e.g. a maximum price). The Operator accepts no liability for risks arising from resale outside the official channel (e.g. an invalid or already-used ticket).
10. Warranty and limits of the service
With respect to the Platform's ticketing service, the Buyer is entitled to the warranty rights ("kellékszavatosság") provided under the Hungarian Civil Code. The Operator strives for continuous, error-free operation of the Platform, but does not warrant uninterrupted operation; it is entitled to temporarily suspend the system for maintenance purposes.
The Operator's liability in its capacity as intermediary – except for liability for breach of contract caused intentionally or by gross negligence, or for damage to life, physical integrity or health – is limited to the value of the relevant purchase transaction. The Operator is not liable for the accuracy of information provided by the Organizer, for the cancellation or modification of the event, or for errors arising from the operation of the payment service provider or other third parties.
11. Data processing
The processing of the Buyer's personal data is governed by the Privacy Policy. By making a purchase, the Buyer consents to the Operator and the relevant Organizer processing the data necessary for the performance of the contract, within the applicable legal framework. Marketing communications may only be sent based on the Buyer's separate, voluntary consent.
12. Intellectual property
The trademarks, logos, texts, graphics and other content appearing on the Platform are the intellectual property of the Operator, the Organizer, or the respective rights holders. Their use, copying or distribution without permission is prohibited.
13. Complaint handling and legal remedies
The Buyer may submit a complaint about the service at support@mqtickets.com. We investigate and respond to written complaints on their merits within 30 days of receipt; if a complaint is rejected, we state the reasons. Complaints relating to the content or conduct of the event are forwarded to the Organizer, and may also be pursued directly against the Organizer.
As a consumer, the Buyer is entitled to turn to the conciliation board ("békéltető testület") competent for their place of residence or stay, and a consumer located in the European Union may also use the Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) platform: ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
14. Amendment of these Terms and final provisions
The Operator is entitled to unilaterally amend these Terms; the amendment takes effect upon publication on the Platform and applies to orders placed after it takes effect. A purchase already in progress is governed by the Terms in effect at the time of the purchase.
Matters not regulated in these Terms are governed by Hungarian law, in particular the Hungarian Civil Code and consumer protection legislation.
